Award Winning @ 10 - Happy Anniversary

Ernest Tsui Architects + Partners Ltd started out with the ambition of bringing award winning architecture to as many people as possible in a cost effective way. BUILD recognised this and gave them their 1st Award in 2015 (Award Winner of the Most Cost Effective High-End Residential Architect) and subsequent BUILD awards followed (2016,2017,2018,2019,2021).

So how could they top that?

‘Well we are continuing to find challenges that allow us to pursue excellence’

The opportunity to do this arrived via a recommendation.

The client for Troy House Art London project had the vision of creating a presence within the cultural landscape and fabric of London, “a global platform for the exchange of contemporary art”.

External glimpse in an award winning build

This was to be done through the renovation of two commercial units, set within the vibrant Nine Elms district in Vauxhall home to the breathtaking The Sky Pool and the American Embassy, into Art Galleries.

Raw space awaiting some design magic

Ernest Tsui Architects + Partners Ltd helped with strategic and legislative planning and support that was needed for a client new to the UK system.

There were also design and Stakeholder coordination challenges that needed to be negotiated that formed part of this service.

The resultant project provided a set of main gallery spaces which hosted the seminal exhibition “In the Shadows Of Paradise - Chinese Video Art Since the Turn Of the Century”.

Exhibition ready spaces

The gallery also houses invaluable ancillary spaces including a small café plus meeting rooms and catering facilities.

From Raw to Refined - the sugar white walls and Resin floors

Being a multi-faceted, award winning practice meant the skills and expertise needed to deliver this kind of project were evident but the faith of the client to take a chance on a team known for housing made this project all the more rewarding for all parties.

So guess what?

The team to receive an award that reflects the company's growth and ambition which is appearing to be realised in projects like this:
